Un-chartered waters

Finally the update I should have done some time ago but so much has been happening and I have just not got to it.

Bruce decided that since the chemo that was being offered was not in any way a cure but rather as he put it ' just gives a bit of time to go around the paddock one more time' he wouldn't put his body in it's current state through it again.

Since then Bruce has been (as you can imagine) slowly loosing his health. He has packed in as much golf as he can - thank you to all you wonderful friends who have played with him - he has loved being with you. He now wonders if last Tuesday's game with Ross was the last. Eating and drinking has become an ordeal because as the tumours grow they are taking the space the stomach needs to hold the food and drink....he says its the same discomfort as if you have over eaten.

The last few days since he has come off the Prednisone he has lost his energy and sleep has been the order of the day. He has taken some Prednisone again today so we will see if it makes any difference. It's all so surreal for him...as I said un-chartered waters.

Unfortunately Bruce is past going out for a coffee or to other peoples places for a meal as it seems to drain a lot of energy from him. If you want to come and visit Bruce we would ask that you call first and see if he has the energy for the visit. Please do not take it personally if we have to say no. Any of you who have walked this journey will understand. Thank you .

Some of you have asked about making us meals. Thank you so much for your kind offers but we will decline. Very little food is being consumed by Bruce so I am making easy salads meals for myself. Bruce's food is prepared in the moment before consumption and is often just a high energy drink.

I will try to keep you more up to date and hopefully you'll hear from me sooner than last time!

Thank you all for your love and prayers :) xx

Thank you for the update, our thoughts are with you both as you walk this un-chartered course. I have walked this one myself with my father-in-law some 7 years ago so can empathise. We miss Bruces' funny quips and experienced eye in the office. It was good to catch up with him last week too. The SVL team sends their love and warm regards.. Marcel

Please pass onto Bruce our love & also big kisses from Scooby. As relatively new friends we will leave it up to those older mates & family to visit when he has the energy. Much love to you, Bruce, family & Rosie

Thank you for the wonderful day you gave us all at Swashbucklers. It was part of the terrible 4 Musketeers, minus Richard, and it was great to see you.

Please keep in touch and let me know how you are going.

I have been a bit tentative about calling asi know you want to rest up, and thank you so much for the CD's. I will treasure them dearly.

All the bestest you two, Greg
