26th January

Hi folx,

Today is Auckland Anniversary Day Holiday. Usually, we would have been away out on the Hauraki Gulf on the boat for the long weekend. This year however, although we still have the Hauraki Gulf, we don't still have the boat - so we're at home. I've been doing a few bits and bobs around (and over) the house. I was up on the roof in the middle of the day just now trying to locate and fix a leak which I thought I'd sorted out pre-Christmas. Apparently this super hot run of sunny weather is due to break tomorrow, so that will test the quality of my repairs. Sure is hot up there today!

I was going to do it in the evening, but the last 2 evenings we have been out honing our modest golfing skills. We've got a long way to go, but are really enjoying it. As Kev Harper rightly points out, golf is an addictive combination of frustration and reward. At this stage, we're not taking it seriously enough to get too frustrated - just enjoying the rewards of the odd great shot! All good fun.

Recently I had an appointment letter arrive from the hospital telling me to report to the Greenlane Radio Oncology Dept. What? I thought all was well and that there was no need (no pun intended) to do any radiation on the knee/tibia area. A quick call to the Haemotologist relieved my confusion. That appointment had apparently been set in motion proir to the PET scan so that IF I'd needed it, the delays would have been minimised. Nice.

The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much pi.

I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island, but it turned out to be an optical Aleutian.

She was only a whisky maker, but he loved her still.

A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math disruption.

Cheers
