Scanner Time (sung to the tune of MC Hammer's old hit)
Had my lymph node biopsy procedure this morning. All went well. I didn’t have to wait the full four hours after the procedure as had been threatened. They ended up doing the biopsy using ultrasound monitoring rather than CT scanner and went in numerous times on either side of the groin (probably too much information!).
The original area in the abdomen which had been suggested was considered very tricky and difficult/dangerous to access given the proximity of large arteries and parts of the bowel. They weren’t prepared to take those kind of risks when it wasn’t absolutely the last option. After a good dig around they felt like they had enough tissue samples to be able to carry out the appropriate analysis.
I have taken the day off work, but have been doing some quotes and emails and even a sale from here at my desk at home.
Will advise results in a week or so once we have them.
