Sooner! (rather than later)

It's Tuesday and Bruce has had his first day in his new job. In prep for his job he dropped the end of a desk on his toe and broke it (not the desk) on Saturday while moving it - Go Bruce!!!! You are wondering if his toe fitted into his shoes on Monday aren't you? Well amazingly it did along with his foot! If you are squeemish don't read the next sentence! Last night he went to have it dressed and they pulled the toe nail off and put it back on using some kind of glue... fortunately they gave him a local...no not a drink from the local! And YES the shoe still fitted on the foot this morning when he drove off to work in his company car :)

The rest of us are carrying on life as usual. The Ferguson family are down in Tauranga/Mt Maunganui having a holiday and Joel is at work. The sun is out again and so is the humidity....right now it's only the gardens and lawns that are saying YES! Dog is in the shade trying to cool down and I am too hot to think my way through my teaching programme for Unitec - Event Management....but I will by the end of the day when it cools down - promise!

Still kicking...

Well, I did get around to updating this ... eventually! Life goes on. Health seems good. Start a new job next week.

Health: Had a routine CT scan a couple of weeks ago to keep an eye on things. This showed that a lymph node that had shown to be enlarged (13mm) on the September CT scan had reduced back down to 8mm meanwhile. While it wasn't seen as concerning, my Haemotologist wanted to keep an eye on it just to play it safe. The last scan shows a couple of 'spots' in/on the spleen this time which, again, don't seem to be too concerning to the medics. They could be anything ranging from 'artifacts' caused by the contrast solutions to signs of infection up to (unlikely) signs of further lymphoma. I haven't felt unwell or had any symptoms of infection, so I'm inclined to think irregularity with the contrast is the likely explanation. They'll do an ultrasound to see if that shows up anything.

Holidays: We had a couple of weeks up at Algies Bay over pre-Christmas through to New Year. It was great to just veg out, play golf, read, sleep, play golf again etc. We had Christmas lunch with the family at Claire & Chris's place and then the traditional Maskell family do in the evening at Whenuapai. A good time was had by all.

Family: Joel had his 28th birthday on Jan 5th and is back into the routine of work again. His drumming/music etc is still a major interest for him. We helped move Claire & Chris into another home a couple of weeks ago. It has a number of things that make it more convenient for them, especially the fact that it is located almost next door to the school where Hannah starts in a couple more weeks. Jesse is doing really well and seems to be ahead of himself in a number of markers. He is such a little joy germ.

Jeanette: Has a few different irons in the fire as we speak - in the event side of things. Even including some teaching on the subject at Unitec this year. Watch this space for further updates!

Bruce: Starting a new job next week which is back in the audio visual arena - this time with one of the wholesale suppliers I used to buy from when I was at ProVision Technologies. I will be looking after their chain of NZ dealers with a view to increasing their already significant market share across a fairly comprehensive range of equipment categories.

Hopefully next update will be sooner.

Cheers

Bruce
